Footstep Articulation Sound Collection
Almost every sound library includes footstep sounds. The problem is that foot movement includes a far broader range of sounds than a foot simply hitting the ground. The full range of foot articulations includes various velocity levels from tip-toeing to walking to marching and running, as we move our feet rotate and pivot. We often stumble and stagger and as we move from point A to point B our movement will trigger a complex mix of all of the above articulations.
This collection includes a comprehensive range of foot articulations sounds across a wide variety of surfaces. All of these sounds are recorded with both a hard shoe and a soft shoe and this combination provides a sound solution for most types of “walking” movement. There are nearly 3500 sound files in this collection and it is designed to allow the creation of a dynamic foot sound system within game audio tool systems. The collection also includes sequence recordings that can be dropped into linear projects with individual steps added where needed for highlights. Many months of work went into capturing the full range of articulation on surfaces from road gravel, Autumn leaves to snow and knee-deep water.
